POINT REYES STATION — October 26, 2026. Two mobile county service vehicles will be presented to the public in Point Reyes Station on Tuesday, October 27, from 4 to 5 p.m. The event is scheduled at the Dance Palace, 503 B Street. Residents of West Marin will be able to tour the vehicles and speak with staff about future services.
Books, technology and help navigating benefits
The Marin County Free Library’s BiblioCoaster will bring books, technology and learning programs to geographically spread-out communities. Marin County Health and Human Services will introduce another vehicle intended to help residents navigate Medi-Cal, CalFresh, CalWORKs and General Relief, along with other services. County officials say the HHS vehicle will work with clinics, schools, community centers and local businesses to create recurring visits.
The launch does not mean people will be guaranteed approval for any particular benefit during the ceremony. Eligibility and applications remain subject to program rules. Residents can seek information about HHS services at 415-473-3800 or through Marin County’s West Marin Multi-Services Center.
Why the outreach matters in rural areas
Driving from Point Reyes Station or neighboring coastal villages to centralized county offices can be a significant barrier. Mobile visits offer a local contact point, but service availability at a particular stop should be confirmed from the announced schedule. The library and health-service programs are two different services operating together at this debut.
